The first A&S interdepartmental seminar will be held as a hybrid session. This event is designed to highlight the excellent research being done across A&S and provide a space for cross departmental discussion on the ways research done across domains and fields can relate and impact each other. 

In this first seminar we are excited to have Dr. Judith Danovitch from Psychological & Brain Sciences and Cara Snyder from Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies coming to speak about their research in a talk titled, "Thinking Across Boundaries: Human Perspectives on Technology, Knowledge, and Society". Dr. Danovitch will present research exploring how children think about technological sources and particularly Google search and how using them affects their learning and motivation. Dr. Snyder will present from their forthcoming book, which examines how Brazilian soccer’s trailblazers–women, gay men, and trans players–leverage their visibility to fight marginalization and advance gender justice.

Following the presentations, join us for an open discussion on the interactions between technology, knowledge, identity, and learning.
